The Explorer! A paracord bullwhip inspired by the adventures of Indiana Jones!
I refer to the Light Tan Explorers as the "Raider" because they most closely resemble the whips from the first Indy movie.
This is the 6' long, 2 belly, Explorer in Light Tan. It cracks LOUD.
The Explorer line of whips, especially the 6-foot whips, are great for anyone who wants to learn how to use a whip.
They also make great accessories for any adventurous cosplayer at a reasonable price.
I have tried my best to come as close to the look of the whips used in Indy movies with this line of whips. The main difference, these are nylon whips, not leather. So they require almost no maintenance (leather must be treated or it will dry out and rot). Nylon whips are also virtually weather proof. If they get wet, just let them dry out. All my whips are paraffin waxed, which gives an additional layer of protection from water.
This is a 10-foot whip. It has an approximately 8-inch long spike for the handle, 1/4-inch steel ball bearing loaded core that goes about 8-inches into the thong. It is made with three bellies (an 8-plait first belly, a 12-plait second belly, and a 16-plait third belly), a 20-plait overlay (thong), a 24-inch fall, and a 8-inch Kevlar cracker. The heel knot is a 3-pass 5 x 4 turks head, and the transition knot is a 2-pass 5 x 4 turks head (these knots approximate those on the whips in the movies as best as I can). And just like in the movies, this whip also has a wrist loop that is roughly 7-inches long. All internal binding is done using artificial sinew, and whenever tape is needed I only use hockey tape. I DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL TAPE. And the last step in all my whips is to wax it using paraffin wax.
It comes with three extra crackers, a small fid for removing knots you may encounter while you have fun cracking it, instructions for care and maintenance, and a canvas bag for storage.
A word of WARNING: This is a REAL whip and can hurt you or someone nearby if not used with caution. ALWAYS use proper eye protection when using this whip. DON’T let young children play with this whip without proper adult supervision. NOT recommended for indoors. When using it, make sure you have plenty of room around you, the whip could accidentally wrap or impact nearby objects and/or people which could cause harm or make them fall and/or otherwise get broken.
